MDI expands into Morocco with acquisition

AUSTRALIA/MOROCCO – Mobile research consultancy Mobile Digital Insights (MDI) has acquired a majority stake in Morocco-based research agency Insightek for an undisclosed amount as part of the company’s expansion into north Africa.

Following the acquisition, Insightek will be rebranded as MDI-Insightek and will be based in Casablanca, with Nabil Abouzaid as its managing director.

Insightek was founded by Abouzaid in 2018 and conducts research across the north African region.

MDI is headquartered in Australia and operates in countries including the UK, US, Belgium, Argentina, South Africa and Kenya.

James Fergusson, chief executive at MDI Group, said: “MDI’s in-the-moment mobile research offer is ideally suited to the needs of clients in north Africa and the Middle East.

“Our partnership with Insightek is extremely exciting and provides a platform for supporting clients in these rapidly growing regions.”

Abouzaid added: “Insightek’s acquisition by MDI means a transformative opportunity for our company not only in north Africa but also in the wider Middle East and Francophone Africa region.
