US— MarketTools is launching a self-service product for creating online communities next week, priced at what it claims is “a fraction of the cost” of competing full-service offers.
MarketTools Community Manager is being made available as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product for end-users who want to quickly set up and deploy communities in which their customers can interact and give feedback on brands and products.
Features available for use in communities include forums and discussions, stories and articles, blogs and image and video galleries, while text analysis is available to help companies keep tabs on what is being discussed and debated.
Mark Frost (pictured), MarketTools’ EVP and general manager of SaaS products, said: “Organisations are looking for ways to engage in two-way conversations with their customers to deepen their understanding of their customers’ needs and opinions, and online communities meet that need.”
A similar SaaS online community platform was released by Passenger last year.
