US/UK— M3 USA, the owner of medical market research agency MDLinx, has acquired Doctors.net.uk, the online network of medical professionals and owner of research business MedeConnect Healthcare Insight.
The deal follows M3’s acquisition of EMS Research last November and will serve as a “stepping stone” for the American firm to expand its footprint in Europe.
Terms if the acquisition were not disclosed.
Doctors.net.uk is headed by chief executive Richard Adams (pictured) who said the firm had been working towards building “a strong international footprint, comprising communities in key healthcare markets”, for some time (see here and here.)
This is also the ambition of M3 USA, said chief executive Aki Tomaru. “While promotional services are still executed at the national level, on the research front, pharmaceutical and investment companies need global access to physicians,” Tomaru said. “The recent acquisitions we have made, including EMS Research last fall, bring not only geographic benefits, but powerful new innovative products, services and expertise which we can implement across our global network.”
