LinkedIn gets MRC backing for video ad metrics

US – The Media Rating Council (MRC) has accredited four video advertising metrics on LinkedIn.

The accreditation covers gross impressions, net impressions, gross clicks and net clicks, and is applicable for video adverts within desktop, mobile web and mobile in-app.

LinkedIn previously gained MRC accreditation for four display advertising metrics in 2023, and said the new accreditation was partly led by the growth in popularity of video content on the platform.

George Ivie, chief executive at the MRC, said: “We congratulate LinkedIn on receiving MRC accreditation for these video ad metrics. This achievement highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to adhering to rigorous industry standard measurement practices for sponsored content ads within desktop, mobile web and mobile-in app.

“This also underscores LinkedIn’s commitment to providing advertisers with compliant campaign data. The MRC sets high standards for accreditation and we are pleased to recognise that LinkedIn has successfully met these criteria.”
