Kantar’s Digitab to close
Digitab provides market research operations, tabulations and advanced analytics services to market research agencies and other organisations.
Acquired by Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) before it was bought by Kantar owner WPP Group in 2008, Digitab ran as a standalone business within the organisation, operating in specialist sectors including medical research.
A Kantar representative told Research Live: "Revenues have been in decline for some years, and following a strategic review over a number of months, it became clear that there was little prospect for change in a declining sector, so we made the decision to close the business."
Four employees have been put at risk as a result of the closure, while two have been re-deployed elsewhere within Kantar.
Digitab’s current clients have been informed and the company will continue to service their requirements until the end of the year.
