SINGAPORE – Kantar Public, the public policy advisory division of Kantar, has appointed Damien Huang to the newly created role of director of policy research, development and evaluation.

Huang (pictured) previously led research on labour and social policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School’s Institute of Policy Studies.

Other past roles include various teaching and research posts at local universities in Singapore and a position in the country’s Ministry of Manpower.

At Kantar, Huang will focus on qualitative, quantitative and data science approaches for government, public sector and non-governmental organisations in the region.

Huang’s appointment follows the recruitment earlier this year of Chor Mui as Kantar Public’s first head of behavioural insights, communications and experience design in Singapore.

Sandra Lim, managing director of Kantar Public Singapore, said: “Damien brings with him more than a decade of experience of supporting and leading national-level projects with the Singapore civil service across the policy spectrum.

“His academic background and training in applied microeconomics with specific labour, social and migration policy research alongside his rich experience in econometric and data analytics makes him a strong addition to our team.”
