US— George Carens has been appointed president of Kantar Media Intelligence North America, replacing Mark Nesbitt who has left the company.

Carens was previously president of media rates firm Kantar Media SRDS and Kantar Media Healthcare. Before SDRS was acquired by Kantar in 2008, Carens held various management and business development roles at Nielsen, the previous owner of SRDS.

He is replaced at the media rates business by Steve Davis, who has been promoted from SVP of sales and client service. Davis will also now oversee Kantar Media Healthcare.

In addition, David Hamric has been named general manager of Kantar’s Marx competitive consumer promotion business. He is a former Nielsen executive vice president and a director of industry specific databases at Dun & Bradstreet.

Kantar Media North America CEO Terry Kent said: “We are delighted to have George, Steve and David in these key positions as we address the evolving needs of the advertising marketplace. The depth and variety of experience that they bring will enable Kantar Media to continue to lead and innovate in media measurement while delivering the insights needed in this dynamic environment.”
