US – Data, insights and consulting firm, Kantar, has expanded its Washington DC office by absorbing the global research agency InterMedia into its public division.
Intermedia partners with organisations to help them understand, engage and positively impact the societies in which they work and live. The integration – it is not an acquisition and InterMedia will no longer exist as a separate business – bolsters Kantar’s presence in Washington DC and adds to the public division’s development practice.
Global CEO of Kantar’s public division, Dr Michelle Harrison, said: “The public division of Kantar provides a natural home for InterMedia and its team of experts. We know their reputation and experience from working alongside them in Washington, Africa and South Asia. Their expertise will strengthen our capabilities in the design, implementation and impact evaluation of programmes and policies.”
Denise O’Reilly, who led InterMedia as president and CEO, said: “Joining Kantar’s global team and combining our innovations means together, we can go further in providing clients with research for global development and continue InterMedia’s legacy and mission to do research that informs and changes lives.”
A Kantar spokesperson said it would “offer career opportunities to all those it is able to” and it expected the InterMedia board to dissolve InterMedia later this year.
