PAKISTAN— Kantar is to acquire a majority stake in Karachi-based research agency Oasis Insights.
Oasis employs 105 people and generated revenue of $2.8m (or 254m Pakistani rupees) for the year ended 30 June. It has gross assets of $1.2m.
Clients include Engro Foods, Mobilink, PTC, Ufone and Unilever.
The company was founded in 1996 by Moazzam Ali Qadri, who died in September 2010. Ownership of the company passed to his wife, while chief operating officer Saima Qamar oversaw the running of the business.
Kantar’s purchase of a majority stake in Oasis is still subject to regulatory approvals. Kantar is headed by CEO Eric Salama (pictured).
