UK – Jisc, the UK’s digital body for education and research, has named Heidi Fraser-Krauss as its next chief executive, replacing Paul Feldman, who is retiring after six years in post.
Fraser-Krauss (pictured) was previous executive director at the University of Sheffield, a role she began in 2020, and previously spent eight years at the University of York, where she sat on the executive board.
Her wide-ranging responsibilities at York covered high performance computing for research, the library and archives, planning and strategic change, as well as governance and legal services.
In addition to her university roles, Fraser-Krauss has also been a member of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service council, chair of the Universities and College Information Systems Association, and chair of the Russell Universities Group IT Directors.
Fraser-Krauss said she would focus on digital transformation in teaching, learning and research in her new role, and develop digital and data tools to support the needs of staff.
