ISBA names Smith as new director general

UK — Phil Smith, former marketing director of Kraft (pictured), is to replace Mike Hughes as director general of ISBA.

The organisation, which represents advertisers in the UK, announced earlier this year that Hughes would step down from the role after 10 years.

Smith previously sat on ISBA’s executive committee, which he later chaired while commercial and operations director of Camelot.

"There was strong competition for this role and we are delighted with this appointment," said ISBA president, Simon Litherland. "Phil brings depth and breadth of industry experience together with a progressive outlook – and he knows ISBA well."

Smith will take up his new role on 9 January 2017, and Hughes will aid his transition during that month.
