Ipsos promotes OTX ops chief David Shanker to new global role

US— Ipsos has appointed former OTX chief operating officer David Shanker as global president of its Observer survey management and data collection practise.

Shanker (pictured) has spent four years in the COO role at OTX, which Ipsos acquired in January this year. Prior to that he was with Information Resources for 13 years during which time he held senior executive roles including president and chief customer officer for North America.

In his new role Shanker will be responsible for driving the Ipsos Observer division’s business performance, client service and quality control standards.

Stewart Jones, Ipsos Global Operations CEO, said: “David uniquely understands how to make market research align with and address the needs of clients. His operational experience and comfort within a fast-growing innovative culture make him ideally suited to lead Ipsos Observer on a global basis.”

OTX’s RSX research and data collection team will be integrated into Ipsos Observer’s North American operation.
