Investors feed DIY tool GutCheck $2m as go-live approaches

Financials North America

US— DIY online qualitative research service GutCheck has closed a $2m funding round as it prepares to go from closed beta to live mode.

The cash will be used to support sales and marketing initiatives and recruit respondents, GutCheck said. George Mulhern, of investor Highway 12 Ventures, will join the firm’s board of directors.

Mulhern said: “With Gutcheck, businesses now have the option to gain feedback directly from their target customers in a real-time fashion, at a price that is a fraction of the cost of traditional methodologies.”

GutCheck was launched in beta mode last month and offers 30-minute interviews with respondents for $40 a time. Once users have completed an interview with a respondent, a downloadable transcript is produced.

Investment was led by Highway 12 Ventures with contributions from Village Ventures, iModerate Research Technologies, Benenson Strategy Group and “several notable” market research industry entrepreneurs.
