InnovateMR updates survey fraud tools

US – Research technology company InnovateMR has added biometric validation as part of updates to its approach to fraud prevention.

InnovateMR and its B2B network Ivy Exec have introduced validation including facial recognition, voice pattern analysis and keystroke dynamics to verify respondent identity.

The company has also updated its AI-based text analysis tool, launched in 2017, and made it available via API integration and do-it-yourself access. Researchers use the tool to validate open-ended responses and detect AI-generated content.

The company said its use of biometric validation is consented and compliant with privacy regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

The moves are in response to online survey fraud becoming more complex, driven partly by AI, InnovateMR said.

Amanda Keller-Grill, senior vice-president, global quality and research excellence at InnovateMR, said: “As fraudsters become more sophisticated, we’re committed to evolving even faster.”
