US— InfoGroup, owner of database marketing firms and MR agency Opinion Research Corporation, has sacked its former chief financial officer Stormy Dean.
His termination was revealed in a brief regulatory filing which gave no details on the circumstances surrounding his departure.
InfoGroup has so far declined to comment on the action, however Dean told a local newspaper reporter on Friday that: “There’s a lot of stuff going on right now that has to be ironed out. I was let go today, and there are things that have to be worked out with my employment agreement.”
Dean was most recently executive vice president and general manager of database group sales. He was CFO up until last year when he was moved from the position as part of the settlement of a lawsuit brought by shareholders who had accused the company of misspending.
His sacking follows news last week that InfoGroup had reached a tentative settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission over its two-year investigation into the company’s spending and accounting practices – a probe that was triggered by the shareholder lawsuit.
