IMS intergrated into AGB Nielsen in South Africa

SOUTH AFRICA— Nielsen’s media planning and analysis software subsidiary IMS has been integrated into AGB Nielsen following the departure of its managing director, Chris Brewer.

Brewer started his own firm, Brewers Marketing Intelligence, in 1989 offering media analysis software products. This company was acquired by Nielsen (then VNU)-owned Interactive Market Systems in 2003 and Brewer stayed on as managing director.

However, Brewer has now departed the company to “pursue other interests” and the firm will be brought under the AGB Nielsen banner led by managing director Chris Eyre.

Eyre said: “This move adds significantly to our basket of services, allowing us to offer the industry software to analyse and plan on the full spectrum of the South African Advertising Research Foundation’s audience media research products.”

IMS services are offered by Nielsen throughout the rest of the world.
