IDC and Cyber Media move from being partners to rivals
The companies announced today that they are to dissolve their partnership, which began in 1987, and will compete against each other from 1 March, with IDC establishing a direct presence in the country.
IDC’s president and CEO Kirk Campbell said: “With India now representing one of the most important ICT markets in the world, IDC has decided to increase its investment in India.”
Cyber Media previously acted as IDC’s representative in India. Now it is launching its own practice, CyberMedia Research (CMR), headed by Thomas George (pictured) and with a team based in Delhi, including those moving over from the IDC partnership team.
Outside ICT market research, CMR will look to work with companies in the areas of biotechnology, outsourcing, environment and entrepreneurship – all areas in which Cyber Media publishes magazines and websites.
