Nielsen hires measurement science lead

US – Audience measurement and media intelligence company Nielsen has appointed Roberto Ruiz as head of measurement science.

Ruiz will lead the strategy and release of new products, technologies and capabilities under Nielsen’s measurement science department, reporting to Nielsen’ chief information and data officer, Russ Soper.

Before joining Nielsen, Ruiz led his own advisory practice focused on AI-led transformation in measurement and audience intelligence for the media and marketing industries.

Prior to the advisory practice, Ruiz was executive vice-president and chief research officer at TelevisaUnivision, and previously Televisa.

Soper said: “Roberto has helped build and steer brands through exciting periods of transformation and growth in his career. His ability to see the measurement landscape through the eyes of our clients really impressed us.”
