UK — ‘Dear Data’, which also features in the Somerset House Big Bang Data exhibition, took the ‘most beautiful’ title in the awards founded by data journalist David McCandless and Kantar’s creative director Aziz Cami.
The awards, held on Wednesday evening in London, are now in their fourth year. There were 17 categories, including data visualisation, infographic, interactive, best team, individual achievement and student. Each category had gold, silver and bronze winners, as well as some receiving honourable mentions.
Dear Data, by Giorgia Lupi and Stefanie Posavec, consisted of weekly postcards decorated with hand-drawn graphics on different subjects, such as ‘a week of smells & scents’ and ‘a week of compliments’, sent between the two. As well as the most beautiful award, the project also collected the gold prize for best data viz project.
The full list of winners can be found here.
