Government’s evaluation advisory panel appointed

The panel brings together UK evaluation and experimentation specialists on a voluntary basis to offer advice on evaluation methods and implementation to civil servants, local government and What Works Centres.
The panel is coordinated by the Evaluation Task Force, a joint Cabinet Office and HM Treasury unit.
Among those to be appointed to the panel for 2026 are:
- Joanna Hofman, director of research and evaluation, Ipsos UK
- Laura Hayward, deputy head of evaluation, Ipsos UK
- Peter Welsh, director, government and society, Ipsos UK
- Andy Fugard, director, IFF Research
- Alex Hurrell, head of evaluation, Verian
- Natalie Gold, head of trials and senior director, Verian
- Peter Matthews, senior director, Verian
- Guillermo Rodriguez, associate director, research and innovation, Nest Insight
A term on the panel lasts for two years, with potential to extend for a further year.
Since 2015, the service has provided advice on evaluation to around 230 government programmes across 25 organisations.
