US – Google has introduced a data analytics and machine learning programme aimed at non-profit organisations and NGOs.
The ‘Data Solutions for Change’ initiative will allow third sector organisations to apply to win a Google Cloud credit grant for six months, self-training lessons with Qwiklabs, the learning platform Google acquired in 2016, and role-based support at a development level.
To be considered, organisations must have valid charity status and be registered with Google for Nonprofits, a website offering access to free tools.
Carol Carpenter, vice-president of Cloud product marketing at Google, said in a blog post: “Non-profits today have the opportunity to access and collect data at an unprecedented scale and many are implementing a data-driven approach to problem-solving. They need data analytics solutions that don’t require them to manage infrastructure operations, and instead allow them to carry out all types of analytics projects and lay the foundation for AI.”
