Former Gallup chairman Alec Gallup dies aged 81

US— Alec Gallup, the former co-chairman of the Gallup Organisation, died of a heart ailment on Monday ( 22 June) aged 81.

He was one of two sons of George Gallup Sr, who founded the Gallup Poll in 1935. Alec Gallup joined his father’s company in 1959 and served as co-chairman with his brother George Gallup Jr from 1986 to 1996.
