UK— Newcastle-based research agency Explain has promoted research director Kim Davis to the role of managing director. She will report to incumbent David Shiel, who is also founder of the organisation.
Davis has been with the company for 14 years, having joined as a research assistant in 1998 after graduating from Northumbria University. She owns a 24% stake in the firm.
Shiel says: “Kim is a shining example of how home-grown talent can flourish and grow into something special with the right combination of training and mentoring.
“Kim possesses determination, enthusiasm and strategic business acumen and is hugely respected by clients and colleagues alike. I know she will make a great leader of our ever growing team and bring new ideas and ways of doing things.”
