Edelman hires first head of data & analytics

US – Communications firm Edelman has appointed Yannis Kotziagkiaouridis to the newly created role of global head of data and analytics.

Kotziagkiaouridis was previously global chief analytics officer at WPP-owned advertising agency Wunderman Thompson, where he led artificial intelligence and machine learning applications for content creation and media activation. Prior to Wunderman, he held senior analytics roles at Merkle and TPG.

At Edelman, Kotziagkiaouridis will develop an offering to be built into the company’s services and business units, and oversee its research and analytics consultancy, Edelman Intelligence.

Based in Dallas, he will report to chief executive Richard Edelman. He will join the company effective from 19th November.

The company is planning to introduce a group of services, similar to its Edelman Trust Management services but focused on brands, in the summer of 2020.

Richard Edelman said: “Yannis is a world-class talent whose experience will enable us to build and scale a data and analytics offer that will be integrated across the network, and we will also consider acquisitions in this space.”
