Hessan has been with the consumer collaboration business since helping found the company in 1999.

In 2011, Communispace was acquired by Omnicom, which later bought co-creation business Promise and merged it with Communispace.

Trevail was CEO of Promise at the time of its acquisition. Since then, he’s been leading the combined company’s global expansion.

“Consumer collaboration is the new frontier and a new source of growth for major brands,” said Trevail. “Communispace is poised to bring our services to new markets, and to significantly expand its value to our clients.”

Commenting on her new role, Hessan said: “2013 has been one of our best years ever. We launched our 700th community, welcomed our 500th employee, opened several additional offices around the world, built fantastic new capabilities, and sustained our 92% client retention rate. It’s a great time for me to step aside and pave the way for new leadership and fresh thinking.”
