JAPAN – Dentsu, parent group of Dentsu Aegis Network, has outlined details of its new structure to be implemented at the start of 2020.

The current Dentsu Inc will change its name to Dentsu Group Inc effective from 1st January, and will shift to a pure holding company structure, as first announced earlier this year.

At the same time, it will launch an in-house company, Dentsu Japan Network, to run the group’s operations in Japan, operating alongside Dentsu Aegis Network, headquartered in London, which oversees business outside of Japan.

Dentsu Japan Network will “build a flat and tightly knit network that is able to respond quickly by forming optimal teams to tackle all issues”, according to a statement.

Under the Dentsu Japan Network, there will be 116 group companies in the country, while Dentsu Aegis Network comprises 880 international group companies, including media planning and buying firm Carat, creative and insights agency Gyro, market research company B2B International and data and analytics firm Data2Decisions.
