US — Social data analyst DataSift has released VEDO, its “next-generation processing engine”.
In a statement, the company said: “Whereas conventional big data solutions typically require teams of data scientists to mine insight from unstructured data such as Facebook and Twitter posts and blog entries, DataSift VEDO features programmable machine learning and automated classification capabilities to extract insight at scale, enabling organisations to apply their resources toward innovation rather than building and maintaining specialised and costly infrastructure.”
The launch of VEDO comes hot on the heels of a $42m series C financing round, which brought the company’s total investment to date to more than $70m.
