Dan Foreman elected Esomar president

NETHERLANDS— Dan Foreman, head of business development at Lumi Mobile, has been elected Esomar president for the 2013/2014 term. Fred John, principal at C Frederic John & Associates, has been elected vice president for the term.

Foreman, who has previously worked for Insight International, FocusVision and Opinium, will take over from Dieter Korczak at the end of the year.

The following eight council members have also been elected to the 2013/2014 council: Tatiana Barakshina (Russia), Michael Bendi (Germany), Bruno Colin (France), Pramod Kumar (India), Luiz Campos de Sa Lucas (Brazil), Niels Schillewaert (USA), Pravin Shekar (India) and David Smith (UK).

Korczak will remain on the council in an ex-officio capacity as past president. Mike Cooke and Gunilla Broadbent leave the council.

Seriously? If this isn't proof that the research industry doesn't take ESOMAR and it's elections seriously, then I don't know what is. Walk into any agency in London and you'll find a handful of people more suitably qualified than this sorry collection.
