Curiosity partners with social network for new online qual company

UK — Liverpool-based research agency Curiosity has partnered with social network AllJoinOn.com to launch CrowdZoo, an online qual service that marries bulletin board focus group software with a panel of double opted-in respondents.

Curiosity’s David Kirby and Carl Wong were already developing the software side of the business when they met AllJoinOn MD Carolyn Morris on a Market Research Society training course, said Wong.

Wong explained that Morris was looking for ways to monetise her network, which was built to help people find new friends online rather than just help them to keep in touch with existing friends.

They hit upon the idea of recruiting a panel from among AllJoinOn’s 50,000 members in order to provide what Kirby calls a “one-stop-shop” for online qual projects. So far, 2,500 of AllJoinOn’s member have opted-in to take part in research projects.

CrowdZoo has been setup as a sister company to Curiosity and its services are being sold both to agencies and end-clients.
