CANADA – The Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) has agreed an alliance with not-for-profit sector diversity campaigners Women in Research (WIRe).
The agreement will allow the CRIC to access WIRe’s 50/50 database, which will help the CRIC stick to diversity guidelines and remove bias from its speaker selections at events and conferences.
The CRIC will also promote WIRe events and allow donations to the WIRe Global Scholarship Fund on its website.
John Tabone, chief administrative officer at the CRIC, said: “We share a common goal of fostering inclusion and promoting diversity for the greater good of both individuals and our sector as a whole.
“We are excited to work with WIRe to advance the contributions and voice of women in research.”
Michelle Andre, managing director of WIRe, said: “WIRe and CRIC share many of the same core values when it comes to diversity and inclusion in our industry.
“We look forward to working more closely with CRIC to champion diversity in Canada.”
