UK – Digital experience analytics company Contentsquare has acquired product experience insights platform Hotjar.
The companies will work closely together but initially continue to operate independently following the deal.
The acquisition will expand both companies’ global market reach and resources.
Contentsquare has offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Munich, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, and Singapore. Its analytics platform tracks digital behaviours, offering recommendations for businesses.
The company raised $500m in Series E funding earlier this year, announcing plans to increase its headcount and expand its geographical presence.
Hotjar, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Malta, has a distributed workforce of around 190 employees in 33 countries in Europe, the Americas and Africa. The company offers product experience insights data for small to medium-sized businesses.
Jonathan Cherki, chief executive and founder, Contentsquare (pictured), said: “Coming together with Hotjar allows us to broaden our reach to bring business-critical insights to every type of business across all industries.”
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
