Compete adds paid-for API option for app developers

North America Technology

US— Web measurement firm Compete has added a paid-for option to its API offering, so more data-intensive applications or web plug-ins can be built that use the company’s traffic, audience and engagement metrics.

The free version of the API remains available but is limited to 1,000 calls per day, with available data restricted to unique visitors, visits and page rank.

The so-called ‘All-Access API’ expands the range of available data to page views, average stay, visits per person, pages per visit, attention, age, income, gender and daily reach/attention. Data calls are unlimited.

Chief marketing officer Stephen DiMarco said: “The API makes our data easy to integrate into innovative applications that promise to increase the speed, precision and effectiveness of digital marketing programmes.”
