UK — Vanessa Clifford, who was previously interim CEO of Newsworks following the departure of Rufus Olins, is taking on the role permanently with immediate effect.
Clifford (pictured) joined Newsworks – the marketing body for national newspapers – in 2012 as client services and strategy director, and was appointed deputy CEO in 2014.
When Olins left Newsworks for the Co-operative Group, Clifford took over as interim CEO. She has now been given the role on a permanent basis.
“Rufus is a tough act to follow but I have no doubt that Vanessa is up to the job," said David Pattison, Newsworks; chairman. "Having been with Newsworks for over four years, she knows the company better than anyone and brings a fresh perspective to the role.
"I am very pleased that she has accepted the challenge to lead Newsworks and I look forward to what she has in store.”
