US— Clear Channel Radio has further strengthened its research team with the appointment of Steve Casey as senior vice president of programme research strategy.

Casey (pictured) comes to the broadcaster from his role as president at Steve Casey Research International. Earlier in his career he was part of the team that set up MTV and he served as the channel’s first programme director.

Clear Channel Radio CEO John Hogan said: “Steve Casey has an incredible range of experience in the radio industry, from DJ to international radio programming expert, and he also worked with Bob Pittman, our chairman of media and entertainment platforms at MTV. We pride ourselves on our connection to our listeners, and Steve’s insights will play a key role in determining how we continue to grow our leadership position in radio.”

Casey’s arrival at Clear Channel follows the earlier appointment of senior vice president of research and development Gary Marince.
