Cisco to acquire IMImobile

US – IT and networking company Cisco has agreed to acquire London-based cloud communications software business IMImobile as it looks to expand its customer relationship management (CRM) service.

Under the terms of the recommended cash offer, Cisco will pay 595 pence per share in exchange for IMImobile, or an aggregate of around $730m.

The acquisition of IMImobile’s cloud communications software will expand Cisco’s customer experience management.

Following the completion of the deal, IMImobile will become part of Cisco’s Contact Center business unit, led by Omar Tawakol, vice-president and general manager, Cisco Contact Center. The Contact Center is part of the Cisco Collaboration business.

Founded in 2000, IMImobile’s technology allows users to manage customer interactions. The company has offices across the UK, US, Canada, India, South Africa and UAE, and employs over 1,100 people.

The acquisition is subject to closing conditions. It is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021.
