Erinn Taylor has joined the firm to lead on expanding the Canvs platform. Taylor was previously senior vice-president of product development at global online market research business Dynata, and was also chief product officer at CriticalMix before its acquisition by Dynata in 2019.

Canvs is also making all of its solutions available via APIs, which will allow companies to integrate Canvs’ emotional and topical measurement into their existing platforms. APIs allow a firm’s products or services to communicate and integrate with others’ products and services automatically.

The APIs launched by Canvs will allow companies to send data sets with open-ended text and filters for analysis, scrutiny of individual Canvs product datasets and detailed television affinities of any custom Twitter audience.

It also offers emotional and semantic analysis of custom, short-form text, Canvs said.

Jared Feldman, chief executive and co-founder of Canvs, said: “Researchers have long known that open-ended text is a valuable source of information for brands. Yet, many have shied away from it because the process of mining that information is so manual, expensive, and time consuming.

“Canvs understands how consumers feel, why they feel that way, and the business impact and actions those feelings and behaviours create for brands.”
