Canoe Ventures appoints research VP, names advisory board
Gerard Broussard
He joins Canoe Ventures from WPP-owned Media Lab where he spent four years as managing partner.
Earlier in his career, Broussard was senior partner and director of analytics at mOne/MindShare and has held senior research positions at Ogilvy & Mather, CBS Television Network and Vitt Media International.
At Canoe he will be responsible for leading research, data and analytics efforts, and manage ad campaign reporting and analytics for clients. The company was set up in 2008 by a group of US cable TV operators, including Charter, Comcast and Time Warner, with the goal of making advertising on their platforms easier to buy, use and measure.
Broussard will report to Canoe chief operating officer Kathy Timko.
In other news, the company has announced the formation of an advisory board which will be chaired by Bellwether Digital Bridge CEO Jim Garrity.
Garrity’s vice chairman is Canoe chief marketing officer Vicki Lins and other members are Wendy Clark (The Coca-Cola Company), Beth Comstock (GE), David Droga (Droga5 ), Mark Kvamme (Sequoia Capital), Bob Liodice (Association of National Advertisers), Wes Nichols (MarketShare Partners) Gokul Rajaram (Chai Labs) and George Wiedemann (UMarketing).
