BMG Research also works with a range of government agencies and regulators, local authorities, utility companies and housing associations.

RSK said the purchase of BMG will bolster its insight and consultancy services across the UK and the world.

BMG managing director Dawn Hands (pictured) will continue to lead the business.

No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed.

Hands said: “BMG Research is aligned with many of RSK’s key sectors, but more importantly it shares the RSK culture of sustainable and ethical growth. We are hugely excited by the opportunities this new relationship brings, not only for the business but also for our staff and clients.”

Alan Ryder, chief executive, RSK, said: “The BMG Research acquisition will be extremely valuable in supporting RSK’s continued diversification into new service offerings and client bases, both in the UK and globally. BMG Research will be able to assist RSK businesses with research and data evaluation.”

RSK, headquartered in Cheshire, is made up of more than 175 businesses, employing 11,000 people and in 2022 had an annual turnover of £796m.

BMG Research, which has offices in London, Birmingham and Glasgow, reported an annual turnover of £19.9m in 2021.
