BDRC Group buys field and studio business Viewpoint Services

M&A UK

UK — BDRC Group has acquired field and viewing studio business Viewpoint Services from its holding company, Rivington Street Holdings, which is in administration.

Through the deal, BDRC said it has acquired “the goodwill and business assets of Viewpoint, thereby allowing the business to continue trading and protecting the jobs of its staff”.

In a statement, BDRC added that: “Viewpoint employees based in temporary offices in central London will shortly be moving into BDRC Group offices in Holborn WC1.”

Viewpoint has been in business for over 25 years and has an annual turnover of around £2m. Viewpoint was bought by Rivington Street Holdings in February 2010, and merged with sister company Rosslyn Research in August 2011.

Following the 2011 merger, Gale Blears (pictured top) became CEO of Viewpoint. She said of the BDRC acquisition: “I am delighted that Viewpoint Services is joining the BDRC Group. I am confident that being part of such a well-established and successful business that is focused on market research will enable us to re-affirm our position as a leading specialist qualitative field agency.”

BDRC said that Viewpoint would continue to operate as a standalone business, complementing the existing qualitative work carried out by Perspective Research Services (PRS), also part of the BDRC Group.

Cris Tarrant (pictured below), CEO of the BDRC Group, said: “This acquisition marks another significant step in the growth of the BDRC Group. With the need for understanding as well as measurement, this is an exciting time for qualitative research. Adding Viewpoint’s experienced team to our existing expertise in the market research sector means together we can look forward to a successful 2014 and beyond.”
