B2B International hires ex-Kantar exec

Dentsu Aegis full-service market research firm B2B International has appointed a Kantar managing director to the newly-created role of head of Germany.

Bernd Buchner

The appointment of Bernd Büchner comes as the market research firm bolsters its operations in Germany with a new office in Frankfurt, complementing its operations in Dusseldorf and Munich.

Büchner, who starts his new job today, joins B2B International from the German arm of research giant Kantar, where he was managing director for three years.

He has also held senior roles at Kantar Millward Brown.

In his new role, he will oversee B2B International’s operations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

B2B International, headquartered in the UK, offers a range of services including customer research, brand and communications research and thought leadership research.

Matthew Harrison, B2B International CEO, said: “As B2B specialists, Germany is a crucial market for us and has been a key factor in our growth.

“We know Bernd will enable us to grow even faster thanks to his vast experience of designing research programmes and running research businesses.”

Büchner added: “I am very much looking forward to starting at B2B International, a market research agency with unique positioning and expertise across many industries and niche markets.

“It is also exciting to be a part of the Merkle B2B agency, bringing together the best B2B capabilities to help companies win in a dynamic market.”

In 2020, Dentsu Aegis Network, which took full control of Merkle in 2020, bought together five agencies to form Merkle B2B, to make it easier for marketers to use its end-to-end offering. Along with B2B International, the agencies were Merkle, Merkle | DWA, gyro, and Digital Pi.
