Ascent acquires Mango Solutions

UK – Software strategy and development firm Ascent has agreed a deal to acquire data science consultancy Mango Solutions.

Mango Solutions, which was set up in 2002, will help Ascent expand its work in data science, advanced analytics, data engineering and the internet of things (IoT) as part of the deal.

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal. Mango Solutions has 65 members of staff and £5m in annual revenue.

Ascent was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in the UK. The company specialises in software product development, business intelligence, advanced analytics, data science and IoT tools and works across 14 countries.

Stewart Smythe, chief executive of Ascent, said: “We’ve enjoyed a proven working relationship with Mango Solutions for some time now, and are so confident in the quality of their work and their people that we decided to make the partnership permanent.

“We expect the combined businesses to deliver organic growth in the region of 20% annually.”

Rich Pugh, chief data scientist at Mango Solutions, who will remain with the company after the acquisition, said: “The most exciting thing about joining Ascent is that we will see our vision and expertise become accessible to so many more businesses so much sooner.

“Ascent is the accelerant to take Mango’s capability and leadership in data science to this broader market.”
