UK — adam&eveDDB founder and CEO James Murphy has been named as the new chairman of the Advertising Association (AA).
He will succeed Cilla Snowball, group CEO and group chairman of AMV BBDO, when she completes her three year term on June 1.
Murphy will work with AA chief executive Tim Lefroy and current president Andy Duncan to grow support and engagement across UK agencies, brands and media; build the AA’s impact with politicians and opinion-formers; and help operationalise the AA’s industry-facing work on advertising responsibility.
“James takes on the role at a really challenging time – not least politically – but thanks to Cilla, he is being handed an organisation in fantastic shape to do the job,” said Duncan.
