UK – Nick Bonney, Camelot’s head of insight, has been appointed as the new managing director of retail specialist, ABA Research.
Bonney (pictured) will start in February next year. He takes over from current managing director, Alison Bainbridge, who will remain involved in the business, working on key accounts and developing new propositions.
Bonney has been at Camelot for the past three and a half years and prior to that was market & customer insight director at EE. Other client roles include Marks & Spencer and several positions at Orange. He also worked on the agency side earlier in his career at RDSi and Maritz Research.
A very active member of the research community, Bonney has been a judge for the Research Live awards for a number of years; sits on the Market Research Society’s Delphi Group; and has been involved in AURA for several years.
Alison Bainbridge, founder and managing director at ABA Research, said: “With constant change and fierce competition as standard, retail is one of the most exciting – and challenging – sectors to research. Nick’s appointment will bring new energy and a fresh perspective to our clients and team. In particular, as mobile and retail move closer together, his industry knowledge will prove invaluable in helping our clients to develop winning propositions and stay one step ahead.”
Bonny said: "I'm really excited to be joining ABA, a business I have long admired. I've worked with Alison and the team for more than a decade in my roles at M&S, Orange, EE and Camelot. The agency achieves a rare balance of delivering outstanding results for clients and impressive company growth, while at the same time keeping a strong internal DNA and values. I can't wait to get started.”
