There are nine categories in the Research Live awards this year. The Research Live categories measure business effectiveness, rewarding agency and client-side success and innovation.

In a change for 2019, the two categories for Best Agency (above and under £20m) have been re-titled to Global Agency of the Year and UK Agency of the Year. To enter the global category, agencies must have bases in a minimum of three different countries and a turnover above £20m.

The Business Impact of the Year category has also been split into separate global and UK categories for the first time.

Chaired by Jane Bainbridge, head of editorial at Research Live and Impact magazine, the Research Live awards judging panel will decide on the winners, based on the entries submitted for: Global Agency of the Year; UK Agency of the Year; Best In-house Team; Best Place to Work; Breakthrough Business of the Year; Business Impact of the Year – Global; Business Impact of the Year – UK, and Young Researcher of the Year.

The Best Innovation category will be judged separately at a Dragon’s Den-style panel, during which nominees will present their work to the innovation judges.

In addition to the Research Live categories, the MRS Awards have 16 categories covering research effectiveness, including Public Policy/Social Research, Applications of Research and Cultural Insights.

All winners will be announced at the annual MRS Awards ceremony, held in London in December.

The full criteria for all Research Live and MRS Awards categories can be found on the MRS website here. Entries must be submitted by 4pm on 2nd July 2019.
