France – The chief executive of the French arm of WPP’s media agency Wavemaker is stepping down after 10 years in the role, which will now be split in two.
Jean-Philippe Bertaux is leaving KR Wavemaker after a total of 13 years with the agency, 10 as CEO.
He is being replaced by Julien Boyer and Roch Osenda (pictured), who previously held the roles of managing director at KR Wavemaker.
Boyer has been with KR Wavemaker since 2018 and has previously held senior roles at WPP agencies Maxus and GroupM.
Osenda has also been with KR Wavemaker since 2018 and was previously a partner at WPP’s KR Media, the digital marketing agency.
During his spell at the helm of KR Wavemaker, Bertaux oversaw the acquisition of KR Media and the merger between WPP agencies Maxus and MEC.
The pair will now report to EMEA CEO Ruth Stubbs and WPP France Country head & GroupM CEO, Mathieu Morgensztern.
Stubbs said Boyer and Osenda, had been “driving” forces in the French market.
It is unclear what Bertaux will do next but Stubbs said he would “stay close to the industry he loves”.
Both Boyer and Osenda will be part of the Wavemaker EMEA and GroupM France Executive Leadership Teams.
