Check out our new monthly ranking of the 20 most influential market researchers and insight professionals on Twitter, produced in partnership with Dollywagon.
We produced this list in partnership with Dollywagon (www.dollywagon.com) using the same approach as our previous collaboration to map the MR network on Twitter.
Dollywagon’s Jason Brownlee explains: “We took the community of MR tweeters identified last time round (c.400 accounts) and we looked at the Twitter handles those people cited and discussed (i.e. those mentioned in the tweets of other users within the community). We then derived a network from this interaction and engagement data and computed the significance of each Twitter handle within the network. The handles that scored highest for general influence were the people most discussed or most successful at getting other MR community members to engage with their content.”
After that, we strip out certain accounts – including our own, @researchlive, and other publications like us, and corporate accounts – to produce the list below. We’ll be re-running the numbers once a month to help you keep up to date with the most interesting researchers to follow on Twitter.

Brian, if you can compile this list together with an audio recording of you doing the countdown as 'Smashie and Nicey' it would be even better. I look forward to seeing the climbers and new entries next month.

Slightly misleading intro.. so this is a list of the most influential tweeters within Market research. Not a list of the most influential Market Researchers... note the absence of Ben Page, Stephan Shakespeare, Deborah Mattinson, Andrew Cooper etc. Shame - MR and certain individuals within it, have an influence that extends beyond our small community.

Thanks for sharing -- always interesting to see! I do think the title is quite misleading. There are a number of people that aren't prolific tweeters, yet are highly influential: Simon Chadwick, Robert Moran, Ian Lewis, Chris Frank, to name a few.

It's interesting to compare this ranking with a ranking by other criteria such as Klout score, Re-tweetrank, # of followers, etc. We have compiled those metrics and posted with some reflections about social influence: http://static.ecglobalsolutions.com/I%20re-Tweet%20you%20But%20do%20you%20Influence%20me.pdf

I think the title is very misleading. The above are influential market researchers? I don't think so. There are so many influential researchers not in the list and not tweeting. This list should be rename as most active twitters, not infuential market researchers.
