The ‘platform services’ team will be led by Barry Simpson, Coca-Cola’s senior vice-president and chief information and integrated services officer.

The organisation will include data management, consumer analytics, digital commerce and social/digital hubs, and has been developed to "create efficiencies" and "improve and scale functional expertise and provide consistent service", the company said in a statement.

It is part of a wider reorganisation announced by Coca-Cola, including new operating units and reinforcing its leadership in five categories: Coca-Cola; sparkling flavours; hydration, sports, coffee and tea; nutrition, juice, milk and plant; and emerging categories.

As part of the changes, the global leaders for these categories will report to the company’s chief marketing officer Manolo Arroyo.
