WPP buys Essence
Essence was founded in London in 2005 and uses data science to buy digital media. Its clients include the Financial Times, Google, HP, Viber and Tesco Mobile.
It will continue to operate as an independent brand within WPP and GroupM.
Essence has offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Singapore and Tokyo and employs 500 people managing media spend of more than $700 million.
