YouGovStone to survey MPs

UK

UK— YouGovStone, the joint venture between YouGov and business consultant Carole Stone, has launched a new service surveying Members of Parliament.

The firm said the new service will offer both omnibus and bespoke surveys, with a representative sample of “at least 100 MPs” taking part in each.

Research director Oliver Rowe (pictured) said the omnibus side of the service will run on a quarterly basis to coincide with when Parliament is in sitting.

“We interviewed a number of MPs to find out what they think of existing surveys they receive from other companies,” said Rowe. “The findings show that questionnaires are often failing to represent accurately MPs views or provide the opportunity for qualified answers. Our knowledge of working with such senior individuals on a day-to-day basis through our various projects means not only do we offer a faster and more client-friendly product than other providers, but our input into question design will better reflect MPs’ views and concerns.”

The new service will run alongside the firm’s existing ThinkTank panel, which is made up of 4,000 “opinion leaders” including business leaders, journalists and public sector and charity directors.
