WPP buys UX agency and stake in shopper insight firm

US— WPP has acquired all the assets of Colorado-based user experience agency EffectiveUI as well as buying a stake in retail marketing company Barrows.

EffectiveUI was founded in 2005 and has offices in Denver, Colorado and Rochester, New York. It designs and develops custom web, mobile, desktop and touch-enabled applications.

Barrows, meanwhile, has been in business since 1995 and has a presence in Brazil, South Africa and the UK and has plans to open up soon in Singapore. The firm offers a combination of retail strategy, shopper insight and design services to clients in the FMCG sector.
